The road less travelled, but the road nevertheless!

I have been following the Tzolkin path for several rounds now. When I find something of interest, I follow with an explorative and intense interest in understanding and dccoding.
The Tzolkin is the innermost ring of the Mayan and Aztec Codex calendars. Many of the outer rings have been long lost in this age of quarrel and misfortune. But this innermost ring survives!
The ancients looked to the path of Venus in the skies and noted her 260 day cycle rising as a morning star and then her 260 day cycle as an evening star. This suggested the duality that our material realm has on a structural level. The shamans and priests quested for understanding and they were given the 20 days. They also learned that a 13 day cycle, called a Trecena, would hold the energies of a particular day through a 13 day cycle, with an ascension of 6 days in which the seeker would experience their quest for understanding and completeness followed by the seventh day, which was the peak of the pyramid and then a further 6 days in which the student became aware of the compassion and nurturance of the Divine in their life.
Many histories have been handed down over generations that give credence and verification to this living philosophy. Regarding Eb, there is the relevant history of the woman named Malinchi or Dona Marina. The translation of her name in Spanish suggests that she was born on 1 Eb. This woman was born a princess but raised as a slave to Aztec lords – she had no great reason to feel any affection toward the Aztec overlords. Bestowed upon the conqueror Cortez as a gift, her rage against her former masters, the Aztecs, led her to provide assistance to Cortez in toppling Montezuma’s empire. She was his translator, lover, spy, and perhaps his principal strategist when it came to Native psychology. Hence some have called her the great traitor who betrayed her people to the Spaniards. Paradoxically, she also became the mother of the mestizo race by bearing Cortez’s child, the first known union of Aztec and Spaniard. So she is the mother of the Mexican people, as well as being the great betrayer. Such histories show us that life on this realm is rarely straight-forward and easy! The testing conditions themselves are the means by which we can break through illusion and find our strength.
