Ancient Sites

As we take a more educated look into remaining ancient sites & places on our planet, we find our instinctual, more-deeply-rooted intelligence giving us clues to our connection with the everything.

Unhindered by a mind heavily involved with the work of accepting and rejecting information and an intelligence deeply-scattered by trust issues, the ancient person would have had all possibility to immerse themselves in the all-that-is and applied wisdom. Of course, life on this planet of temporariness and death can never bring an absolute peacefulness, but relative to our experience, theirs would certainly have been more immersive.

There has been a ton of speculation around what the purpose of these sites was; astronomical observatories, gathering places for tribal festivals and ritual and many more ideas, but my take on them is that they were places of gathering and rituals on the wheel of the year, where people could come and immerse themselves in asking the question, ‘How does our experience here of bringing children into the world, securing food and water to sustain us and experiencing conflict relate to you, the huge vast horizon of eternity with all your variegatedness and beauty? what is the connection between us and you? you are the strength of eternal mother and eternal father – please protect us & guide us!

The movements of the shining celestials were noted year after year after year until their paths and cycles become clear. Then stone structures were erected to connect the movements with the lives of the people and the people would gather at certain times to see the movement of the bright luminaries in the defined boundaries of correctly-aligned standing stones. I can just imagine that at such times, those people would have felt a strong sense of belonging to the eternal vastness and it’s mysterious life force.

Is that not the same strong desire to feel connection with eternity as we feel, even in our dissociated and impersonal world?

Fasting

Wow! I just said ‘fasting’ and everyone quickly got up and ran out of the room! Why? because the last thing that we want to do is an act of austerity that has the potential to make us feel sad/depleted/on the losing end! In our imaginations at least!

But! the act of fasting is an ancient art and well-respected for it’s ability to revive and restimulate the entire body and it’s energy systems. We discover over time, especially when we fit fasting into our calendars, that we become lighter, happier, more agile. less likely to procrastinate and waste time, better able to have healthy relationships with significant others and so on. So, how can that be?

Fasting engages powerful biological mechanisms that influence metabolism, cellular repair, and overall health.
Fasting stimulates autophagy, a natural process where cells remove damaged proteins and dysfunctional organelles. This helps prevent cellular aging, neurodegenerative diseases, and even cancer by maintaining internal cellular balance and repair mechanisms.
Ketones and autophagy contribute to neuroprotection. Studies show fasting can enhance cognitive function, memory, and focus. It may increase BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) — a protein vital for learning, mood regulation, and neuron growth.
In short: fasting is a controlled form of biological stress that trains the body to become more resilient, efficient, and self-repairing.

If an animal gets sick, you watch! it will fast! It is in that sense a hard-wired bodily response to a change in biological state. The interesting thing is that in the Vedic culture, folk used to and still do, fast on the 11th day after the New Moon and on the 11th day after the Full Moon. Twice a month. With whole populations fasting, food is spared and the people grow strong.

I fasted quite a few times as a youngster and then later on, I decided to follow the 11th day method mentioned above. The only problem was that I was quite toxic due to years of a certain lifestyle and so the fasting caused crazy headaches etc. Years later, I actually enjoy my fast days and come out of it feeling lighter and more cognitive. If you feel to take it on, just go into it gradually, one step at a time and with that bi-monthly rhythm, you will soon have found a way to stay young, fit & healthy for a whole lifetime!

Love kicks the ass of space & time!

I heard this quote the other day and it made me grin internally – what a brilliant statement!

When you really quiet down, you can begin to understand that both space and time are facilities for us to navigate our lives in this world. They are not set in stone monolithic structures. You can verify this for yourself by stopping and noticing your situation throughout the day. You will notice that time is a factor that is constantly moulding around your experience, it is changing and adapting to your consciousness. This is verified by modern science and has been accepted since ‘time began’ (LOL). The same goes for space, it is constantly adapting to your needs! Most folk accept them as immovable eternal factors, but no!

In Bhagavad Gita 18.61, Sri Krishna tells Arjuna;

īśvaraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ
hṛd-deśe ’rjuna tiṣṭhati
bhrāmayan sarva-bhūtāni
yantrārūḍhāni māyayā

The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone’s heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.

As we wander throughout our lives and throughout the universes, we are protected by casings of a gross body and six subtle bodies. In addition, we have at hand access to the emotions, which we access in times of need such as anger when we need to establish boundaries, or fear, when we need to slow down and observe what is going on around us. We in our essence are neither the body or the mind. We are travelling in a machine; protected; all we need to do the work of becoming fully cognizant and realized beings, which we actually already are! Time and space are part of the material energy for us to utilize in this endeavour. We just have to claim it in that way! So, love is the beautiful oneness that sits on top of all material energy, hence love kicks the ass of space & time!

You never know where your next inspiration may come from!

I have always been a seeker of knowledge. It is written into my code. As a child in the 60’s, I used to observe everything and everyone with great interest. Things were externally more interesting back then in that sense. But now, as we all begin to travel within, we have so much online content and tons of information available at a click. AI has turned up to help us with this.

You may have noticed websites and posts turning up in your field of vision. Don’t think that it is all AI marketing. No! Go to the moment before that thought and wonder if it was your own intuition that brought your attention to that thing. Let it draw you in initially and if it really doesn’t resonate – back off and go somewhere else! If it does resonate, explore and you will find something that is going to lead you on your forward trajectory.

So, I wanted to tell you about a wordpress site that has recently inspired me. It is ‘Jaguarwisdom.com’. The author is Debra and she has created a site about the Tzolkin Wisdom Calendar of the Mayans. The ancient Mayans and other Mesoamerican people saw wisdom and insight in the movement of Venus in the sky. It was the only planet that had a dualistic aspect, meaning they observed her rising as a morning star and after a brief period out of vision, she emerged again as an evening star. This total transit is 520 days. The Tzolkin or innermost calendar is 260 days. 260×2=520. Other calendars existed and a few are known. Much was lost by the destructive impact of the European colonials.

When you spend time and explore the 20 days and 13 trecenas (13 day cycles), you begin to see that it is a truly holistic system, connecting us with higher consciousness. This can be compared with the Gregorian calendar, which stems from the old Babylonian tax system calendar, which some consider to be one of the main reasons behind the chaotic state of the world. Better to be in the flow than enslaved to a shambling authoritarian system.
